Scenic Horseback RidingHorse Rentals,  Horseback Riding Lessons, and Pony Rides Near Atlanta in Covington, Georgia by the Alcovy River

29

Two of our ponies, 007 and Peter Pan, are learning to pull a cart.  Their breeds were initially designed to be cart ponies.  Both ponies are under saddle.  Their ultimate job is to provide cart transportation for those individuals that are not interested in learning to ride a horse in the saddle.  Cart driving offers parents an opportunity to accompany their children in the field.  Adults can enjoy the entire horse experience along with riders with less training time than learning to ride a horse in the saddle.  Driving is a lot of fun.

Both ponies will also be used to help maintain the fields.  The cart has an area to place seed spreaders, drag rakes, and weed spray control units.  These maintenance tasks can be performed while the ponies are in the practice mode of learning to drive a cart safely.  The cart is going to give us a great degree of assistance in keeping our fields in better shape.

We want to give a special thanks to J. Kell Canty for his generous contribution of the funds to purchase this equipment.
